Training and nutrition coaching

Coaching grounded in mechanism, not guesswork.

Most plans tell you what to do and stop there. We explain the physiology behind every change we ask you to make, so you understand why it works and can hold onto it after the program ends. In the gym with us, or fully online.

The Nutrient North Star

Six foundations, seven dials.

Most nutrition advice comes in two broken flavors. One is rigid and identical for everyone, a rulebook that ignores the fact that you are not the person standing next to you. The other is so vague it means nothing, the classic "just eat in moderation" that has never once changed a body or a life. We reject both.

There is a way a metabolically healthy human being is built to eat, and it holds true for almost everyone. Those are the foundations, and they rarely change. Then there are the details unique to you: your goals, your physiology, your history, your life. Those are the dials, and we set them together.

The foundations, true for nearly everyone

Whole food, 80 to 90 percent of the time

Food your great-grandparents would recognize: quality proteins, fruits, vegetables, starches and real fats. This single principle does more heavy lifting than any supplement, hack or trend on the market.

Every meal should taste good

This is not a consolation prize, it is a requirement. A plan you dread is a plan you quit. We teach you to make whole food legitimately delicious with herbs, spices and technique, so eating well stops feeling like punishment.

Eat enough protein

The macronutrient most people under-eat, and it drives muscle, satiety and metabolic health. Your exact target depends on your goals and your body, and we set it with you.

The right carbohydrate load for you

Carbs are not the enemy. The right amount depends on your goals, your activity and your physiology. We favor whole sources, fruit, vegetables and starches, over refined ones.

Favor anti-inflammatory fats

We lean toward the fats that support you and pull back on the highly processed omega-6 seed oils hiding in nearly every packaged and restaurant food. How far we take this depends on your goals and physiology.

Build an adult relationship with food

Eating like a grown human who is in charge of their choices, not a sugar-crazed kid or a college student living on whatever is fast and cheap. This is the quiet skill that holds everything else together.

The dials

Adjusted with you, and they move over time.

The foundations are the constants. These are the variables we tune to your exact situation, and they change as your goals change and as life progresses.

How many carbohydrates you eat, and when
Your protein target
The type and amount of fat
Meal timing and frequency
Which specific foods we reduce, remove or reintroduce
How strict or relaxed we are, driven by your goals, your personality, your stress and physiology, and your real-time biofeedback
When you take a planned break, because breaks are a necessary part of the process, not a failure of it

A relaxed client with modest goals has very different dials than a Type-A client chasing a single-digit body fat goal while still wanting a life. Both are valid. The dials are how we make this journey yours.

The common offenders

Do any of these look familiar?

After years of coaching, these are the foods and habits we run into again and again, roughly in the order they cause the most trouble.

1Added sugars 2Industrial omega-6 seed oils 3Excess alcohol 4Individual gastrointestinal food sensitivities 5Ultra-processed, hyper-palatable foods 6Gluten 7Dairy

This is not all or nothing

Read the foundations again and notice what is missing. There is no perfection requirement. The 80 to 90 percent is deliberate. The other 10 to 20 percent is where real life lives: the birthday dinner, the trip, the glass of wine with someone you love. Constant sustainability beats occasional intensity every single time.

Two ways to work together

Pick the format that fits your week.

The coaching method is identical either way. The only difference is whether we are standing next to you for the lift or reviewing the video of it.

In person

Train with us on site

Hands-on sessions with live coaching on technique, load and tempo. Best if you are newer to lifting, coming back from an injury, or you simply show up more reliably when somebody is expecting you.

  • Face-to-face sessions at Sports Village Fitness
  • Real-time correction on every lift
  • Nutrition coaching runs alongside training

Online

Coached from anywhere

The same programming and the same coach, delivered remotely. Best if you travel, train at odd hours, already have a gym you like, or live nowhere near us.

  • Programming built around your gym and schedule
  • Video review on your main lifts
  • Regular written check-ins and adjustments

How it runs

From application to the first adjustment.

  1. 01

    Apply

Tell us your goal, your training history, and what has not worked before. It takes a couple of minutes.

  2. 02

    Assess

We map your starting point: intake, training load, sleep, stress, and any bloodwork you already have.

  3. 03

    Build

You get a training plan and nutrition targets, each one with the reasoning written next to it.

  4. 04

    Adjust

Regular check-ins. We move one variable at a time so we always know what produced the result.

Meet your coaches

Who you will actually be working with.

Two coaches, one method. Between us, eighteen years in practice and several hundred people who stopped guessing.

Andy and Holly at the Sports Village Fitness facility

Coach

Andy

I spent 25 years in addiction. Surviving it taught me what no certification could: the mind and the body are one system, and people who feel stuck are rarely short on willpower. They are short on answers.

Then I spent a decade inside the medical weight loss world, watching people get handed the same protocol as everyone else and get told their labs looked normal while they felt anything but.

For 15 years and several hundred clients, I have done the opposite. Labs read in context, not waved off. Protocols built from your data, not a template. My clients are men and women from 30 to 70 who have done everything right and stalled anyway.

Credentials

Credentialed through FNMS, Metabolic Mentors University Functional Nutrition Levels 1 and 2, Precision Nutrition Levels 1 and 2, and NASM with six specializations.

Coach

Holly

I started at 215 pounds, in a family where being overweight was just normal. I lost more than 90 of those pounds as one of Andy's first clients, and I have kept them off for 12 years.

What surprised me was not the weight. It was finding out how good you can actually feel in your own body, and how much confidence comes with that.

That is what I do now. I work with women 20 and up who want to get stronger, take control of their health, and feel at home in their own skin. My favorite part of this job is watching a woman do something she was certain she could not do, then watching her wonder what else she has been wrong about.

Apply

Tell us where you are starting from.

Applications are read by a coach, not a form filter. If we are not the right fit for what you are after, we will say so and point you somewhere better.

Initial consult application

Fourteen questions, about five minutes.

We ask about your goals, what has worked before, what is stopping you now, and what success would actually look like. Answer properly and your first conversation with us starts far ahead of where it otherwise would.

Or open the form in a new tab.

Every application gets a reply.
